Mariano
From soccer on the streets of Panama to becoming the greatest closer of all time.
Mariano Rivera, legendary New York Yankees closer, tells how his childhood in Puerto Caimito, Panama prepared him to become one of MLB’s greatest players. Our campaign for The Hartford includes a three-part online series, and a national broadcast television commercial that ran during the World Series.
The first of three in the series, Prepare introduces us to a young Mariano.
The story continues with “Protect”.
The third act in the series, “Prevail” concludes Mariano’s journey.
The TV spot for the campaign first ran during the World Series. Mariano surely felt right at home.
Working with Mariano was a treat, but the most rewarding part of the experience for us was the time we spent filming young Davíd in Puerto Caimito, Panama. Davíd stole our hearts. This reel of footage from our shoot in Panama was assembled to give the agency and client a look at what we captured there but was also instrumental in giving Rivera himself a feel for the project.

None of which would have ever happened had Meg not written an additional creative treatment which took us on a journey to Puerto Caimito. Her enthusiasm for the work is infectious. We need more of her in our industry.Jon HansenCreative Director, Rodgers Townsend
